Tony Falbo, Founder
Mr. Tony Falbo has been involved in the Fire Alarm and Communications industry for greater than five decades. As the past President of Mirtone Industries Ltd., Mr. Falbo was responsible for firmly establishing Mirtone as one of the premier fire life safety companies in North America. Mr. Falbo has built an excellent reputation in the industry by his association, both past and present, with quality product and responsible companies.
Mark Falbo, J.D., L.L.B., MBA, President
As President of Mircom, Mark is responsible for general execution of business strategy. Mark joined Mircom in May of 2002 from Orenda Corporate Finance Ltd., a Toronto-based corporate finance advisory group. Prior to his position with Orenda, Mark worked in public market investment banking with CIBC World Markets, as well as in the legal profession with Lang Michener. Mark earned his degrees from the University of Toronto, and he is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Mark sits on a number of Boards and Committees, including the MacKenzie Health Hospital and the University of Toronto – St. Michael’s College.
Engineering and Technical Managment
Jason Falbo, B.ESC, MBA, P.Eng, PhD (Candidate), Vice President, Research and Development, Engineering
Jason is responsible for leading the R&D and Engineering department at Mircom. His external experience includes operating a consulting practice focused on SAAS in a number of industries including energy, financial services, government, healthcare, and insurance. Some of his past clients included Enbridge Inc., Scotiabank, Insurance Bureau of Canada, and Canada Health Infoway. The practice encompassed various functions but focused on delivering project & development expertise, software development, software programming, business processes analysis, technical design and implementation and workshop environment training. Jason earned his MBA at a joint program offered by UCLA, Andersen School of Management and SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy).
Laurie E. Eisner, P.Eng, MASc., Vice President, Engineering
Laurie joined Mircom in early 1999 and is responsible for Product Development and Standards & Listings. For five years prior to his full-time employment with Mircom, Laurie acted as a consultant to the Company and has been instrumental in the development and commercialization of many new products. Laurie graduated from the University of Toronto in 1973 with a BASc, Engineering Science, Electrical Option, and earned a post-graduate MASc., Electrical Engineering, in 1975. As Mircom's product family continues to evolve, Laurie’s key insights into the regulatory landscape and his legacy knowledge of the Mircom family of products' architecture and protocols is key to our innovative path.
Sales and Business Development Management
Rick Falbo, B.A., L.L.B., Executive Vice President, Business Development
Rick works together with Executive Management, Mircom Regional Vice Presidents and Sales Teams to develop growth strategies and to cultivate new markets and opportunities globally. Rick joined Mircom in 2004 after a multi-year career as a professional portfolio manager with the Royal Bank of Canada. Rick is a gold medal award winning graduate in Economics from the University of Toronto and also a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School.
Alan Taaffe, MBA, Vice President, Canadian Sales & Service
Alan joined Mircom as VP of Canadian Sales & Service in 2016 after providing strategic consulting services to the company. As an accomplished business professional, Alan’s career over the last three decades includes progressively more senior management roles in marketing, operations and sales. Alan is a business studies graduate of Ryerson University and has an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University.
Tom Minerich, Vice President, U.S.A. Sales
Tom is an award winning sales leader with greater than 30 years of industry experience and strategic expertise. Tom possesses a deep understanding of fire, security and life-safety markets and is an active participant on the Mircom Senior Leadership Team, assisting in strategic priorities and US market development.
Michael Venoit, Director of Sales, U.S.A. Security Distribution
Michael joined Mircom in 2015 with approximately 30 years of industry experience, having previously worked as a sales representative for a number of life safety, security and access controls manufacturers. Michael’s industry experience and strategic sales expertise, as well as his deep understanding of security and life-safety systems, allow him to manage Mircom’s rapidly growing security products channel.
Victor Sebben, Vice President, International Sales
Victor is responsible for all aspects of International Sales and Business Development. Victor joined Mircom in 2004 but has a multi-decade association with the company and its principals through independent sales representation and business development. Victor has overseen significant expansion in the international markets on behalf of Mircom.
Todd Gustafson, National Account Manager, MGC Systems U.S.A.
Todd joined Mircom in 2004 with approximately 30 years of experience in the fire alarm industry. Todd previously held positions with Simplex, Faraday and Fire Control Instruments. Todd is technically proficient in the field of fire detection regulations, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Northwest Missouri State University and is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving from 1970-1974 as a C-130 Flight Engineer in the Pacific. Todd recently assumed ownership of a revamped US salesforce under a newly launched service platform.
Financial and Operations Management
Ed Mattei, MBA, CPA, CA, Chief Financial Officer
Ed is a Chartered Accountant (Ontario) and also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. With greater than 20 years of progressive business experience, Ed’s previous professional experiences also included executive roles in corporate development and corporate taxation.
Dale Quinn, Vice President, Operations
Dale joined Mircom in early 2016. His main responsibilities are to oversee all manufacturing and production operations at Mircom. Dale is an Operations executive with greater than 25 years of progressive leadership experience in the electronic product development and manufacturing industry; this includes responsibility for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Lean Management, Production Engineering, and Facilities.
