EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT

Tony Falbo, Founder

Mr. Tony Falbo has been involved in the Fire Alarm and Communications industry for greater than five decades. As the past President of Mirtone Industries Ltd., Mr. Falbo was responsible for firmly establishing Mirtone as one of the premier fire life safety companies in North America. Mr. Falbo has built an excellent reputation in the industry by his association, both past and present, with quality products and responsible companies.

Mark Falbo, J.D., L.L.B., MBA, President & CEO

As President of Mircom, Mark is responsible for general execution of business strategy. Mark joined Mircom in May of 2002 from Orenda Corporate Finance Ltd., a Toronto-based corporate finance advisory group. Prior to his position with Orenda, Mark worked in public market investment banking with CIBC World Markets, as well as in the legal profession with Lang Michener. Mark earned his degrees from the University of Toronto, and he is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Mark sits on a number of Boards and Committees, including the MacKenzie Health Hospital and the University of Toronto – St. Michael’s College.

SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

Rick Falbo, B.A., L.L.B., Executive Vice President, Business Development

Rick works together with Executive Management, Mircom Regional Vice Presidents and Sales Teams to develop growth strategies and to cultivate new markets and opportunities globally. Rick joined Mircom in 2004 after a multi-year career as a professional portfolio manager with the Royal Bank of Canada. Rick is a gold medal award winning graduate in Economics from the University of Toronto and also a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School. Rick is also responsible for Marketing Communication Leadership at Mircom.

TONY LAPOLLA, VICE PRESIDENT, CANADIAN SALES

Tony has been with Mircom since 2017 and has progressed through various senior roles into his current position of Vice President, Canadian Sales. Tony’s formal education is in Mechanical Design and he possesses over 30 years of career experience in the Fire & Life Safety Industries. Tony previously held senior positions with Electro Vox and Notifier Canada and is today responsible for Mircom’s direct and indirect sales channels across Canada.

MIKE FINELLI, VICE PRESIDENT, CANADIAN SERVICE & PMA SALES

Mike has greater than two decades of experience managing, leading and growing sales and service in the Canadian industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) industry. He has held senior positions with Siemens Canada, Simplex Canada, Chubb Fire & Security and was most recently the Vice President, Operations and Sales for Logixx Security.

Allen Fritts, Director OF SALES, USA

Allen brings a wealth of experience to the Mircom Group, having worked in the fire and life safety industry for over three decades, with significant positions at ADI, Fire-Lite Alarms, and Honeywell. As Director, U.S. Sales, Allen oversees Regional and Territory Business Development Managers, and collaborates with customers, influencers, and stakeholders to drive the company's growth in the U.S. market.

RAMY BASSILY, B.A.SC., P.ENG, REGIONAL DIRECTOR MIDDLE EAST, Africa and asia pacific

Ramy has been with Mircom since 2012 and is responsible for all aspects of Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific Sales, Business Development and Project Support. Ramy has over 20 years of career experience in the Fire & Life Safety Industries. Prior to joining Mircom, Ramy spent over a decade in the MENA/Arab Gulf Region working in the Fire & Security space. His expertise is focused on project strategy and development, business processes, technical design, implementation and workshop environment training.

ENGINEERING & TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT

Jason Falbo, B.ESC, MBA, P.Eng, PhD (Candidate), Chief Technology Officer

Jason is responsible for leading the R&D and Engineering department at Mircom. His external experience includes operating a consulting practice focused on SAAS in a number of industries including energy, financial services, government, healthcare, and insurance. Some of his past clients included Enbridge Inc., Scotiabank, Insurance Bureau of Canada, and Canada Health Infoway. The practice encompassed various functions but focused on delivering project and development expertise, software development, software programming, business processes analysis, technical design and implementation and workshop environment training. Jason earned his MBA at a joint program offered by UCLA, Andersen School of Management and SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy). Jason is also responsible for Product Management Leadership at Mircom.

Laurie E. Eisner, P.Eng, MASc., Vice President, Product Development

Laurie joined Mircom in early 1999 and is responsible for Product Development and Standards & Listings. For five years prior to his full-time employment with Mircom, Laurie acted as a consultant to the Company and has been instrumental in the development and commercialization of many new products. Laurie graduated from the University of Toronto in 1973 with a BASc, Engineering Science, Electrical Option, and earned a post-graduate MASc., Electrical Engineering, in 1975. As Mircom's product family continues to evolve, Laurie’s key insights into the regulatory landscape and his legacy knowledge of the Mircom family of products' architecture and protocols is key to our innovative path.

David polsky, B. comm. (honours), CISSP, Chief Information officer

Dave Polsky currently works as the CIO for Mircom, overseeing all information systems, applications and infrastructure. As a seasoned IT veteran with over 25 years of experience working with Fortune 1000 companies, David excels at leveraging technology to ensure clients and employers achieve their overall business objectives. David brings a diverse technology background with strengths in infrastructure and operations, application management, IT security, process optimization, B2B eCommerce, and mobile applications. His experience in both the public and private sectors combined has given him a keen understanding of how to support operations and requirements in different business environments. As a co-founder of a mobile and web applications development company David understands the entrepreneurial nature of technology and the importance of strategic direction. David holds a B. Comm. Honours degree, has attained a CISSP designation, and is a Drexler Certified Facilitator.

Mike Yankoo, Director, Information Technology

Mike joined Mircom in 2016 and is responsible for all information technology systems at Mircom, including applications, infrastructure, networking and security. With over 12 years of I.T experience, he works with various business areas to ensure the right technologies are in place and optimized for productivity and security.

Finance Management

DION DIAMOND, CPA-CA, chief financial officer

Dion joined Mircom in late 2019 and is responsible for all aspects of Finance and Accounting for Mircom, including Financial Budgeting and Performance, Treasury Management and the creation and maintenance of strong Policies and Procedures. Dion earned his CPA-CA at Ernst & Young in London Ontario. Subsequent to that, he worked 7 years at Nortel Networks advancing steadily into more senior roles in Business Unit Finance as well as Treasury and M&A. Immediately prior to joining Mircom, Dion spent 19 years at Shawcor Ltd holding various Senior Finance Leadership roles where he had developed strong team leadership capabilities and a wealth of experience in Strategic Planning and Financial Reporting with a focus on Balance Sheet and Working Capital management.

LEGAL AND HR MANAGEMENT

MARYANN ROMANO, B.A. (HONOURS), CHPL, CCP, VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES

Maryann joined Mircom in 2021. She is responsible for human capital strategies, plans, and policies. Prior to her full-time employment with Mircom, Maryann has held senior HR positions, offering leadership in high growth and complex global matrix organizations with significant presence in the US and Europe. Her expertise includes public and private companies, union and non-union environments, and within Canadian-owned and subsidiary scenarios.
