Purpose of the Training

This training is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with the FX-4000 software and programming. Our goal is to equip technicians with the necessary skills to efficiently operate and program the FleXNet FX-4000 system.

 

Overview of FleXNet FX4000

The FleXNet FX-4000 is a sophisticated fire alarm control system known for its modular design and scalable architecture. This system is designed for flexibility in programming and customization, allowing for tailored solutions in various building environments.

 

Objectives of the Training

Participants will:

  1. Acquire detailed knowledge of the FleXNet FX-4000’s hardware and software components.
  2. Learn configuration and programming techniques specific to FleXNet FX-4000.
  3. Engage in hands-on sessions to apply technical knowledge in simulated environments.
  4. Develop skills for troubleshooting and maintaining the system effectively.

This training aims to enhance technical skills and operational efficiency in managing the FleXNet FX-4000 system.

The training will be attended by invited technicians from Carl Palaez – BDM Northeast region.

  • Geoff Ruscoe ([email protected]) – Training Development Manager, responsible for overseeing the training content and delivery.

Course Outline

FX-4000 Technical Certification Course:

  • Type of Course: Instructor Led training – Technical certification.
  • Format: Combination of self-guided and instructor-led training.

Pre-requisite Self-Guided Coursework:

  • Availability: Starting March 4th, 2024, for enrolled attendees.
  • Duration: Approximately 2-4 hours
  • Content: Includes modules, lessons, and quizzes on various technical topics.
  • Completion Deadline: March 11th (before the first ILT session)
  • Mandatory: Completion is required for access to ILT sessions and certification.

Instructor-Led Training (ILT) Sessions at Mircom Engineered Systems New Jersey Office:

  • Dates: March 12th – 14th.
  • Structure: 6 sessions, each approximately 3 hours.

      • Morning Session 1: Configuration Basics
      • Afternoon Session 2: Panel Configuration
    • Wednesday March 13
      • Morning Session 3: Networking
      • Afternoon Session 4: Audio
    • Thursday March 14
      • Morning Session 5: Advanced Logic
      • FX-400 Series and QX-Mini Intro
  • Assignment Projects: Issued after each session.

Key Notes:

  • ILT Location: Mircom Engineered Systems – New Jersey
  • Access to Course Materials: No CodeMeter key needed.
  • Grading: All quizzes and assignments – tracked and graded.
  • Certification: Attendees failing to complete the prerequisite material will not be granted access to ILT sessions or certification.

 

Laptop/PC Specifications Required for Class

Attendees will require a Windows PC laptop, with the following minimum specifications: (A laptop is needed for portability when connecting to control equipment):

  • 1GHz CPU or better with at least 4GB RAM
  • At least 600 MB of available disk space
  • Microsoft Windows (up to version 11)
  • Ensure user has Wi-Fi internet access and permissions to install software
  • Minimum 2 USB Ports for Codemeter Key and Panel Connection

 

Preparations before attending class.

Sign in and join the online classroom group and pre-requisite course. A classroom code or invite will be sent to the email provided for the learner prior to the start of the course.

Follow the instructions in the course curriculum outline.

Complete any prerequisite course material as required by the due date.

 

Class Enrollment Details and Course Pricing

FleXNet FX-4000N Technician Certification Course Standard Costs for Online training

  • $1475 + tax per person*
    • FleXNet FX-4000 New Technician Course for technicians that have no prior FleXNet Product Training.

*(Programming keys and panel connection kits are not included.)

All attendees will be given access to Mircom Learn (Learning management System). Pre-requisite course and Instructor Led Training course content will be provided in this environment. Resources such as configuration software, manuals, firmware etc., will be included.

 

CodeMeter Keys and MGC Cable Kits

CodeMeter programming keys (sold separately) will be activated for 2 years of use in the field upon successful completion of the course.

Communication Plan

A dedicated communication channel using Mircom’s LMS system will be established for the participants to facilitate seamless interaction before, during, and after the training event. This will include a training portal for resources, and current and future course options.
