Amazon Key is a secure access system that enables verified Amazon delivery drivers to unlock building entrances using their mobile devices during active delivery windows. This eliminates the need for staff involvement while ensuring secure and controlled access.
With Amazon Key, deliveries are streamlined through time-bound, authenticated entry, allowing drivers to enter buildings independently and complete deliveries without manual assistance. The system uses multi-factor authentication and cloud-based verification to ensure access is granted only during authorized delivery periods, minimizing the risk of unauthorized entry.
This solution provides hardware at no cost, making it a cost-effective way to enhance both security and operational efficiency.
Amazon Key can be deployed in two ways:
- Hard Key (Hardware-Based)
A physical device that integrates seamlessly with Mircom’s access control systems, including readers, controllers, and intercom panels. - Soft Key (Cloud-to-Cloud Integration)
A software-based integration that connects directly with Mircom’s T-Series via the cloud—no additional hardware required.
The hardware solution features an onboard eSIM for cellular connectivity, with Ethernet backup if cellular service is unavailable.
Requirements:
- An existing building access system (e.g., call box, buzzer, or door strike) capable of receiving unlock signals
- Location within Amazon’s active service areas
- Sufficient residential unit count to support installation
