Why can I not connect to the panel using a USB cable? I keep getting the error message – Object reference is not set to an instance of an object “_”

Do you keep geting the following error message?

Object reference is not set to an instance of an object “_”

Follow the steps below to fix this error:

  1. Disconnect the panel first if there is a battery/UPS connected.
  2. Power cycle the panel leaving the USB cable plugged in.
  3. Ensure that the USB-Comport driver is properly installed within the used laptop/PC. You can find the driver under your PC’s Control Panel>Device Manager>Ports. The driver is called “AT91 USB to Serial Converter”.
  4. If the above has been confirmed then restart your computer.
  5. Reconnect the panel and test to see if the issue has been resolved.

If you’ve followed the steps above and keep getting the error, please contact technical support for more assistance.
